SANGKURIANG

Once upon a time there was a woman named Dayang Sambi who lost her thread. A dog found it and gave it back to her. According to her promise, the dog become her husband. The dog was really a man.

Dayang Sambi had a child. His name was Sangkuriang, Dayang Sambi wanted to eat the heart of the deer. So Sangkuriang and the dog looked at for a deer in the forest. Because it was difficult Sangkuriang kill of his dog and took the heart to his mother.

He told his mother that he had killed the dog. Dayang Sambi hit him and his head was injured. Sangkuriang ran away and live as a monk (pertapa)

When he was a man, Sangkuriang meet a beautiful woman. He didn’t know that she was her mother, but the women knew he was her son. Sangkuriang wanted to marry her. His mother asked him to make a lake and a boat.

Sangkuriang tried to make a lake and a boat. But he could not finish it in a day. He was angry so he kicked the boat and the boat turned up side down it become the mountain of Tangkuban Perahu.
